In this study, we explored how these consumers research, plan and schedule their vacations, including how they decide where to go, who goes with them — and, ultimately, how they choose which airlines, hotels, resorts and cruises to book.

Our key finding? Planning is personal. The majority of people book their own trips. And most of them (57%) start on search engines. Travel booking sites are a distant second (13%) and only 2% of today’s vacation-takers use travel agents.
